I just wanted to share my progress with everyone. I am now 10 weeks without shampoo! The first photo was on Oct 1, my first day starting this journey. The photos after, I posted from tonight. I wanted everyone to see the drastic difference, especially in length! Good luck no-pooers!
I have changed my regimen up a bit. At first I was using baking soda and rinsing with apple cider vinegar. I did not depict this part of my journey due to the holidays- being so busy and such, but the dryness was so awful, complete strangers were bringing it to my attention!! Plus, that waxy feeling never seemed to completely go away, and I was passed the typical 6 week detox phase. I knew I had to change, and quick! SO I threw away my baking soda routine and met my new friend, castile soap.
A woman on a No Poo help group on Facebook lead me to an applesauce rinse. It immediately got rid of my waxiness and it has not come back! The waxiness was a result of left-over residue. She told me it would return though, because it's due to my hard water not allowing the castile soap to completely wash out (although it has been 3 weeks and the waxiness has not reappeared :). I feel like I can confidently state that I've lived through the detox period, as I go a little over a week between washings now. Thank you all for your continued support~
I will continue to update :)
